Vacation Care
Mornings at After School Excellence are more than just before-school care — they’re a positive, nurturing start to the day.
On arrival, children are warmly welcomed and offered genuine choice. They may take part in planned morning activities or enjoy relaxed free play with friends, using our engaging OSHC resources. This flexibility supports children’s wellbeing, friendships and sense of belonging from the very start of the day.
A healthy breakfast is available every morning, with a variety of nutritious options for children to choose from. Breakfast is offered in a relaxed, supportive environment, allowing children to eat at their own pace and start the day feeling nourished and ready to learn.
Children have access to both indoor and outdoor play each morning, with active games and sports forming an important part of the routine. This balance of movement and choice helps children regulate their energy, build confidence, and arrive at school focused and prepared.
Our experienced educators intentionally guide the flow of the morning, ensuring a smooth and stress-free transition into the school day. Children head to class feeling settled, supported and ready to succeed.
Our After School Care Program
After school at After School Excellence is a time to unwind, reconnect and explore.
Children have access to both Junior and Senior indoor spaces, as well as the school’s expansive playground, giving them the freedom to move, play and relax in ways that suit their age, energy and interests.
Each afternoon, children can choose to take part in engaging programmed activities or enjoy free play with friends. This balance allows children to decompress after the school day while still being inspired by creative, hands-on experiences.
A nutritious afternoon tea is provided daily, featuring a wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, along with a main item for children to enjoy. From freshly made tacos to do-it-yourself wraps, there is always something new to try and something for everyone.
Our much-loved Afternoon Master Classes operate daily, offering children opportunities to build skills, explore interests and challenge themselves in a fun, supportive environment.
✨ New in 2026: We are excited to introduce a dedicated Year 5 and 6 program with a designated space within our Senior Area. This program is intentionally designed to support independence, leadership and self-directed learning. Older children are empowered with greater choice and responsibility, opportunities to design their own projects, collaborate with peers, and take on leadership roles within the service, all within an age-appropriate environment that feels distinctly “theirs.”
With an abundance of activities, outdoor play and spaces to relax, children enjoy a positive, unhurried afternoon until they are collected from care.
After School Care operates until 6:00pm, providing families with peace of mind at the end of the day.
Our Vacation Care Program
Our Vacation Care program is truly one of a kind.
We understand that spending school holidays at school can feel challenging for some children — which is why our Vacation Care is intentionally designed to feel nothing like a regular school day.
During the holidays, our service transforms into a holiday-style kids club, inspired by the fun, freedom and excitement of a resort experience. Children are welcomed into a vibrant environment where exploration, choice and enjoyment are at the heart of every day.
Special holiday-only resources are introduced, alongside engaging incursions, exciting excursions and hands-on experiences that are exclusive to Vacation Care. These additions create a sense of novelty and anticipation that children genuinely look forward to.
Children are free to rotate between a variety of indoor rooms and outdoor spaces, choosing from a wide range of activities or simply enjoying relaxed free play with our OSHC resources. This flexible approach supports friendships, creativity and wellbeing, while allowing children to shape their own holiday experience.
Each day follows a clear Vacation Care itinerary, similar to a kids club schedule, outlining the activities and experiences available throughout the day. This helps children feel informed, empowered and excited about what’s ahead.
Our Vacation Care program operates from 6:30am to 6:00pm during school holidays, offering families flexibility and peace of mind while giving children a holiday experience they truly enjoy.
Happy Home Workers Club
We understand that getting homework completed can be difficult.
We also understand that children want time to play with their friends before and after school.
At After School Excellence, we provide balanced support for children and families in both Before and After School Care in meeting their homework requirements.
Parents or Children can nominate how much time they would like to spend on Homework and complete it with guidance from our Educators.
One less thing for you to worry about so you can spend more time being with your children.
Master Class
Our Master Classes offer children a unique, small-group learning experience that allows them to explore new interests and discover hidden talents.
What sets our Master Classes apart is our commitment to offering key, high-quality sessions during care hours, rather than as add-ons or extras. These carefully designed experiences are short, focused and engaging, making them accessible and enjoyable for all children.
By partnering with subject matter experts, children participate in quick, “short and sharp” sessions that introduce real-world skills and ideas in meaningful ways. Each class is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence and leave children feeling proud of what they’ve learned.
From hands-on cooking and creative perspective photography to interactive online lessons and many more rotating experiences, our Master Classes ensure there is always something new, exciting and inspiring to try.
These sessions support curiosity, skill-building and confidence in a way that fits seamlessly into the OSHC day.
Excursions and Visitors
We offer a wide range of excursions and on-site experiences, with a strong focus during Vacation Care, to extend and enrich the learning experiences available to children.
These experiences provide children with meaningful opportunities to engage with the wider community, including visitors and professionals who bring specialised knowledge, skills and perspectives beyond those of our educators. This helps children see learning as something that happens everywhere — not just within the service.
Our excursions are thoughtfully planned to support children in exploring their physical and social environments, including their local community, while building confidence, curiosity and social connections beyond the service setting.
Families, children and educators all contribute to the planning of excursions and on-site activities, ensuring experiences are relevant, inclusive and reflective of children’s interests and strengths.
All experiences are intentionally designed to extend children’s learning and understanding, with clear links to the My Time, Our Place framework, supporting children to build knowledge, skills and confidence in meaningful, real-world contexts.
Our Educational Program
We have intentionally created a rich balance of learning support, exploration, sporting skills, fun and relaxation within our program, ensuring every child can engage in ways that feel meaningful and enjoyable to them.
At After School Excellence, the My Time, Our Place framework guides how our educators plan and deliver high-quality experiences. It supports educators to thoughtfully facilitate children’s play, leisure and learning in ways that recognise each child’s strengths, interests and developmental stage.
The framework informs our program decision-making and supports reflective practice, helping educators to plan, implement and evaluate engaging experiences that are purposeful and responsive.
My Time, Our Place also provides a shared language for educators, children and families, strengthening conversations about learning, wellbeing and development.
By clearly linking our practice to the framework outcomes, families can be confident that our program is delivered with intention, quality and best practice at its core.
Breakfast and Afternoon Tea
At After School Excellence, we strongly focus on educating for and developing children’s health by promoting a healthy lifestyle.
We believe that good nutrition is essential for each child’s healthy growth and development. For this reason, our services provide nutritious, good-quality food that is consistent with the Dietary Guidelines for Children and Young People in Australia.
We provide a relaxed and enjoyable environment for children to eat their meals and snacks
We consider the children’s likes and dislikes and any cultural or medical needs of individual children and families
We encourage the development of the children’s good eating habits by modelling and reinforcing healthy eating and nutrition practices by our educators.
We also seek opportunities to grow our food and collaborate with children to use the food we have grown ourselves in our menu planning
Families at After School Excellence are encouraged to share recipes and traditions to enrich the variety and enjoyment of food by the children and support the children’s development of, respect for and understanding of diversity
